2008 Super Jock ’n Jill Half Marathon and Fun Run to benefit Charley’s Fund

Brief Description:

Join us for a Labor Day Tradition!  The Super Jock ‘N Jill Half Marathon and 4+ Mile Run/Walk is a Labor Day Tradition, held in the scenic Sammamish River Valley since 1978.  Support Research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy through Charley’s Fund.   www.charleysfund.com

 

Fees: 

Half Marathon is $50 through 8/17/08, $55 through 8/31/08 and $60 day of race.

4 Mile Run/Walk is $25 through 8/17/08, $30 through 8/31/08 and $35 day of race.

Shirts:

Half Marathon runners and walkers will receive a long sleeve BROOKS Podium Training Shirt!  There are only 1200 of these prized BROOKS Shirts.  Register Early!  If you sign up late, we can’t quarantee availability for full choice of sizes.  4 + Mile Run/Walk receives a short sleeve BROOKS podium Training Shirt!

 

 

Packet Pickup

Pick up your number, shirt and timing chip on race day from 7:00-8:30AM at the registration area located at the east of Redhook Bowl near the bottling plant loading dock.  You may also check your gear at the PortaBox unit near registration.

 

Half Marathon Walk Course: 

The description below is the same as last year and what we expect for this year as well.  We are currently working with the city of Woodinville to confirm everthing.

At 8:00 AM the Half Marthon Walk starts northbound on the Sammamish River Trail just north of NE 145th by the Trail Restroom (across from Willows Lodge).  Miles 1-3 are on the Sammamish River Trail.  At the Sammamish River Br. (SR522 curve), connect with the half marathon route on E. Riverside Dr., just east of the Northshore Senior Center water station.  Please stay on the right as runners catch up to you!

 

Half Marathon Run Course:

The description below is the same as last year and what we expect for this year as well.  We are currently working with the city of Woodinville to confirm everthing.

At 9:00AM, the Half Marathon Run starts in front of Redhook and heads north on Woodinville-Redmond Rd. continuing to Blyth Park in Bothell.  Cross two bridges just east of Wayne GC on the Sammamish River Trail and pass Bothell Landing.  At mile six, cross under SR 522 into the University of Washington/Bothell Campus and loop around Bothell.  Re-connect with the Trail,  and head south through Wilmot Park on your way back to Redhook.

 

4+ Mile Run/Walk

The description below is the same as last year and what we expect for this year as well.  We are currently working with the city of Woodinville to confirm everthing

The 4(+) mi. fun run/walk starts at 9:00AM with the Half Marathon Run northbound on the Woodinville-Redmond Rd.  After 1.5 mi, turn right (east) on NE 175th.  Cross the Sammamish River and take a sharp right turn through Wilmot Park.  Follow the Trail south to Redhook.

 

Restrooms

Restrooms are located near the course (not necessarily ON the course) at Blyth Park (mile 4), Bothell Landing (mile 5), University of Washington/Bothell Campus (Promenade near mile 7 and Mile 9), and at Wilmot Park (mile 11).

 

Awards: 

Top finishers will be recognized at the Awards Ceremonies: 4mi @10am, Half Run @ 11:00AM. Walkers will be recognized on stage at 11:30AM.   Top 3 age group awards will be given.  The age groups are 19 and under then 10 year age groups up to 70+.  There will also be awards for Wheelchair participants.   The Half Marathon Run serves as the Pacific NW Track and Field Open and Masters Half Marathon Championship.  To be eligible for PNTF Championships and Prize Money, competitors must have a current USATF Membership Number.

 

 

Parking:

There is limited parking at Redhook with priority give to staff and quest.  Please arrive early and be considerate of NO PARKING ZONES.
